Zan-Ball

Zan-Ball is intended to be used with the ruleset of Dagorhir, optimally played with two teams of 3-5 and a moderately sized playing field.

Purple Damage (The Ball)

1. Hit locations for purple damage include both head and body, excluding hand on weapon, and foot on ground.

2. Body Armor will protect you from one hit of purple damage.

3. Helmets are immune to purple damage.

4. The ball must travel it’s own distance before it counts as a legal hit.

5. The ball only damages the hit locations struck and cannot break shields.

(Purple damage and headshots are not necessary to play Zan-Ball and can be taken out at the discretion of the herald) If this is the case the ball is treated as a flying blue for all purposes.

Game Rules

1. Played with a safe ball, similar to that of a dodgeball or a kickball.

2. The goal of the game is to transport the ball from the middle of the field, to the opposing team’s designated goal point, a player must have possession of the ball when scoring a point.

3. To hold the ball you must have it in a free hand obstructed by no other weapon, or shield.

4. When you are holding the ball you may not take a step, jump, or movement in any direction unless you are pivoting.

5. You may throw the ball towards a teammate to make a pass.

6. At the beginning of each round both teams must start on opposite sides of the field, in front of their designated goal point.

7. If the ball is fumbled, and not caught, it does not deal damage to the player.

8. If the ball rolls or is thrown out of bounds, the opposing team gets possession of the ball, and may throw it to a teammate from the edge of the field.

9. If you throw the ball at another player on the opposing team and it is caught, you are considered out and must see to rule #10.

10. Respawn and Death are decided by those playing dependent on the amount of people playing and preference. The following rules are examples of choices.

10.1 If you die, or are called out, the only way to come back into the game is by catching the ball from an opposing player, or killing a player holding said ball, on the opposing team.

10.2 Touch and go (or 5 second) resurrection from your designated goal points.

11. You must not kick, punt, or whack the ball with anything other than your body, shield, or hand on weapon, if hit with your body you must lose what was hit, and if the ball hits your weapon, the weapon is treated as if it is not there.
