The most prolific type of foam used in Dagorhir for home made equipment of all types. Blue foam is not the cheapest or best quality foam available, but as it can be acquired at almost all Walmarts it is a quick and easy option for players.

Blue foam is approximately a 2.5lb foam with a moderate lifetime. Ultra-violate light/ sun exposure will degrade the foam over time.

Floor mat/ 4lb

Floor mats are a higher density foam that have excellent tear resistance and a very fine cell structure.

The density of this foam allows it to be worked with many conventional woodworking power tools such as band saws and routers.

4lb foam is frequently used as a base layer on many types of weapons.

Volara Foam

Volara is a small cell structure foam with a smooth surface and good stretching and tear resistance.

volara is available in a verity of density from 2lb to 6lb. Depending on the density of the foam it is useful for a verity of construction purposes.

Polyethylene foams are a small cell structure foam with a long useage life and stability.

Cross Linked Polyethylene is available in a verity of densities but is most often utilized for blue sword blades.

Minicell Foam is commonly available in the form of yoga mats. Minicell is a very small cell structure that provides a tear resistant and soft foam.

Minicell is typically a 2lb foam. The softer feel and tear resistance makes the foam useful in the construction of stabbing tips.

Polyethylene Foam

Polyethylene foam is a large celled close cell foam with a significantly more brittle cell structure.

Open Cell Foam

Due to the ability of air to flow through the cells of Open Cell Foam, it has a much softer feel and allows for a faster compression rate than closed cell foam.

All arrows and javilines have a layer of open cell foam on the head, as well as many two handed stabbing weapons.

Moderately dense open cell foam can be aquired from NERF footballs and basketballs.

Lower density are available at fabric stores intended as furniture cushioning.
