Synopsis

Players divide into two teams, each with a Priest and a Paladin. The Paladin can convert enemies to his team by killing them, the Priest can heal and revive his own teammates.

Equipment

No extra equipment is required

Field setup

Not much field is required, though it is recommended to limit the play area somewhat. This game works better if there are obstacles to fight in and around.

Game play and win condition

Players are divided into two equal teams. Each team picks a Paladin, and a Priest for their team. They reveal who their Paladin is to the other team, but not their Priest, which is kept secret for as long as possible.

The Paladin is given 3 stoneskin, which cannot be healed by the priest. If the Paladin kills a combatant, the dead combatant is now on that Paladin's team, and can be revived as an ally by that team's Priest. Team names are strongly recommended, and players must identify themselves with the team name they are given (or converted to) when asked.

The Priest is given no special protection, but can both heal and revive. Revive is done by touching the dead player and counting to 3. Healing is done by touching an injured player and counting to 10, and this healing can be interrupted like normal Dagorhir healing. The extra time for healing is so that it is harder to heal someone during combat, as this makes them somewhat invincible. However, it is easy to revive players back into play, keeping the game going.

The Priest is forbidden from reviving enemy players, and cannot revive his Paladin. The Priest also cannot be converted to the opposite team by being killed by a Paladin. Once the Priest is dead, there is no longer any rez option for his team.

The game ends when one team has had their respawn shut off and they are all dead. In this way, killing the VIPs does not automatically mean victory, and the godless heathens who have no Priest or Paladin can still win if they fight well enough.

Additional notes

This game can be confusing at first, with people switching teams. If possible, it is much easier if you have team headbands, enough for all combatants to have one of each color, so they can swap quickly while dead. But, even if you don't, this can still be played as long as everyone frequently identifies themselves.

The game can last longer if the Priest is given the ability to revive his Paladin and heal his Paladin's stoneskin. A bit of caution though, this will make the Paladin extremely hard to kill before the Priest, and if the two stick together, can become nearly unstoppable.
