Synopsis

Free for all environment. If you are killed, when you respawn, you must kill the fighter who killed you before anyone else!

Equipment

No special equipment required.

Field setup

Any field of play is compatible. Use a central location for a rez point. Start in a wide circle, each player at least arms length away from each other.

Game play and win condition

Stay alive and fight off all contenders. When a fighter dies, they go to the rez point and touch it to come alive.

The fighter must shout alive before they are alive. No ninja respawns.

Upon resurrection, the fighter must seek out and kill the fighter who killed them, before all other targets. They can of course be targeted by other fighters, and they are allowed to defend themselves, even to the point of killing the fighter who is fighting them. But, even after this fight, the fighter must go on and hunt down the original person who killed them in their previous life.

Win condition: One fighter kills all other fighters in a single life, and have the entire field hunting them. Once that happens, the game is over when that fighter is dead.

Additional notes

The game begins to fall apart with more than about twenty fighters, as it becomes a slog with no real end. However, this game can be fun if set up as a "kill your unit killer" battle at larger events, where it functions similar to a unit battle. A unit is only resurrected once all of its members are dead, and upon this, must seek out the unit that killed their last remaining member in their previous life.
