Synopsis

Teams vie for the favor of the Gods who walk among them, brandishing divine power no mortal can withstand.

Equipment

Required equipment:

  • As many flags as there are teams, or a means to tell which God is on what Team
  • Team headbands for each team.
  • Some means to tell the Gods apart, either special headbands, masks, weapons, or even just lining them up and pointing them out to each team.
    • If the last option is chosen, be sure to pick unique looking players with iconic armor or helmets.

Field setup

Scattered throughout the field are altars, the control points the teams are vying for. Each altar has a flag for each team and a way for that altar to display the flag. Teams are divided equally. The field can work with a team per God, or two equal teams.

Game play and win condition

There are 6 Gods, each with a special power:

Thor - Wields a blue weapon which deals red damage, the hammer Mjolnir.

Loki - Wields two venomous daggers that can deal super damage, meaning they can kill in one hit, and he has 1 stoneskin that regenerates in 5 seconds out of combat.

Odin - Wields a glaive or spear which deals Double Red damage (if red safe), and super green damage, known as Gungnir

Ymir - Wields an unbreakable shield of ice, as he is a frost giant. Additionally, any white weapon he throws counts as blue damage.

Fenrir - Wields two blue weapons, and has 3 stoneskin that regenerate if he is able to kill a player.

Hel - Wields any projectile weapons, which count as black damage.

In this way, there are two minor gods; Thor and Loki that must fight reasonably well but have a leg up on players, two major gods; Ymir and Fenrir that have extra protections and can secure kills fairly easily, and two overgods; Odin and Hel which kill players very quickly but are prone to being overrun if not protected by their worshippers.

At the start of play, each God is next to an Altar that shall be their altar for the rest of the game. They start neutral and do not do anything but attempt to protect their altar from any foreign worshippers, (at start, this means anyone) If the God dies for any reason, he or she respawns at his or her altar.

When a team takes control of an altar, and raises their flag at it, the God of that Altar fights for that team. However, the God is encouraged to keep a close eye on his or her Altar, for as soon as it is controlled by another team with their flag raised upon it, the God fights for that team, even killing his former comrades right next to him on the line. For this reason, it is strongly recommended the team that has captured a God's altar should shout out to the respective God to notify the team change.

God's are not under the control of their worshippers, but are encouraged to work with them to achieve their goals. If a team asks a God to reinforce a certain position or work on taking certain ground, that God should be inclined to listen, though if the requests are suicidal or impossible by nature, the God is of course free to refuse.

Each God should call out the type of damage they are dealing, for example, when Thor swings his hammer, he should call "Red!"

Each God with stoneskin should call out the number of stoneskin left when hit. If Fenrir has three stone, and is hit, he should call out "two stone!" then "one stone!" then "zero stone!" as he is hit.

Game End

This game be either end with a Death tax, of 5 times the amount of players per team, or can end after a set time of 1 hour, with every five minutes, the each team gains a point for each Altar they are in control of.

Additional notes

Heralds are encouraged to select veteran fighters for Thor and Loki, and select at least experienced fighters for Fenrir and Ymir, but even newbie fighters can play Odin and Hel effectively.

Of course these names are interchangeable, but the abilities given here are tested and balanced. Change them at your own risk!
