A hit from a hand-held weapon counts when the weapon's striking surface hits with sufficient force. Clarification: taps, grazing, and glancing shots do not count as sufficient force. Sufficient force varies depending on the size and build of the person you are fighting. What is and is not sufficient force is decided by the fighter who is hit by the shot.
