Ceasing Battle

Around the Dagorhir nation, many fields use "hold" and more recently, "Kneel" to signal an emergency stop to a battle, in the case of injury or to end a game. Unfortunately, these terms have caused confusion on the field and false stops, due to the common callout "Hold the Line!" being shouted among combatants defending, and "Heal!" being shouted by the wounded for a healer.

Many realms have switched to using "Stop Fight" as the current and safest method of stopping a battle for an injured player, or to clear dangerous hazard or dead players in a press. "Stop Fight" is something that would never be shouted in battle, and is clear, distinct, and used by many other games, even among steel communities, to stop a battle safely and clearly.

Additionally, if the battle was stopped due to an injured player that needs immediate medical attention, players are encouraged to shout for "Medic!" It is never permissible to shout "medic!" for in game healing during Dagorhir, as too many realms use this word for a medical emergency. Instead, shout "Healer!" or "heal!" though be aware that many realms that still use the old "Kneel" style of stopping fights might end up false stopping for you.
