Footwear
A vast majority of Dagorhirrim do not wear elaborate or historical footwear. Minimum garb standards require "unobtrusive" shoes or equivalent attempt be made in order to promote a historic/fantasy aesthetic. Quality hand crafted footwear using period techniques can be expensive, and learning the craft of cobbling can be overwhelming. A simple and effective way to obtain passing footwear is to wear earth-tone shoes or boots (not sneakers). Another way is to go barefoot, although weather, as well as large melees, can discourage going barefoot.
As most groups hold practices outdoors at parks and in fields, consider shoes with adequate traction for wet grass and ankle support for instances of grappling and sharp turns. Leather boots are a popular choice and cheap pairs can be found in thrift stores for a fair price. Moccasins and plains boot styles, while not strictly period, can easily be modified by removing fringe, etc.
